“Hey there, I’m Jamie Andrade, an artist-educator now located in the Central MA area. I come from a Cape Verdean farming family that had worked the lands of Cape Cod for the last 100 years. My work demonstrates my love affair with wide scenic landscapes, fused with influences from African patterns. In my spare time I have created a group called Malborough Makers that works to create a social networking space for artists that exist between Boston & Worcester. While skating with Boston Roller Derby we annually worked as volunteers at Rosie’s Place, a woman’s shelter in Boston. Giving back to this organization is important to me because I experienced living in a women’s shelter at just 4 years old. Safe places like Rosie’s are vital for many women and children to get back on their feet. I am honored that my work will be used to support an organization that provides a sense of security to those in need”
